Adorn: Jewelry, Glass, and Metal

Design it, shape it, fire it, and wear it! In Adorn, young artists will explore the art of jewelry making while experimenting with clay, glass, metal, beads, wire, and other materials.

Campers will create their own handmade clay beads and components, experimenting with shape, texture, pattern, and color before transforming them into finished jewelry. We'll also venture into glass fusing, arranging colorful pieces of glass into small designs that will be fired in the kiln and incorporated into wearable art.

We'll explore metal and wire techniques too, learning how simple materials can be bent, shaped, hammered, wrapped, and connected to create pendants, charms, earrings, bracelets, and other decorative pieces.

Along the way, campers will learn about jewelry design, composition, color, craftsmanship, and how different materials can work together. Rather than following one design, artists will be encouraged to develop their own collections and experiment with styles that reflect their individual personalities.

From tiny sculpted beads to shimmering glass and hand-worked metal, this week is all about turning artistic ideas into something you can actually wear!

When: April 7–8, 1:00–3:00 PM
Where: Lionardo Art Studio, 1212 Fulton St W, Grand Rapids, MI 49504

Two-Day Project: This camp is designed as a two-day making-designing experience, giving artists time to develop their ideas, create clay, fused glass, and metal jewerly pieces, and build into finished pieces.

Drop-off Camp: Lionardo Art Camp is a drop-off program.

Mix & Save: Choose any combination of School's Out Camp sessions throughout the school year and save!

2–3 camp sessions: Save 10%
4–9 camp sessions: Save 15%
10+ camp sessions: Save 20%

Each individual morning or afternoon camp session counts toward your discount, even when attending multiple days of the same camp. You can mix and match sessions across camp themes, dates, and school breaks throughout the year.

For example, attending two days of a morning camp and two days of an afternoon camp counts as four camp sessions.

Discounts are calculated per student, so sibling registrations cannot be combined to reach a discount tier.

ART CAMP POLICIES

Camp Hours: Camps are offered as morning or afternoon sessions, with exact times listed on each individual camp page. Campers ages 5+ may enroll in both a morning and afternoon camp for a full-day experience. A supervised lunch hour is included for full-day campers. Please bring a packed lunch.

Before & After Care: Optional early drop-off and late pickup are available for up to 30 minutes before or after camp. Before and after care must be selected during registration and includes an additional fee.

Drop-Off Program: Lionardo Art Camp is a drop-off program for children ages 3 and up. Parents or caregivers of younger campers are welcome to wait in the front waiting area if preferred.

Small Group Environment: Camps are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 16 campers and at least two teachers present. Our typical student-to-teacher ratio is 1:8, allowing for personalized support and a positive, engaging environment.

HEATH AND WELLNESS POLICY

We prioritize the health and well-being of our campers, families, and staff.

If your child is feeling unwell, has a fever, vomiting, or other contagious symptoms, please keep them home and notify us as soon as possible. Campers should be symptom-free for at least 24 hours before returning.

We follow standard cleaning and hygiene practices and will communicate with enrolled families if any health-related updates or precautions are needed during the session.

FOOD AND ALLERGY POLICY

Lionardo Art Studio is a nut-free studio.

Campers should bring a snack or lunch (for full-day campers), but no peanuts or tree nuts are permitted. This includes nut butters, nut milks, and products containing nuts such as Nutella.

Please list all allergies and dietary concerns on your registration form. While we do our best to accommodate needs, parents and guardians are ultimately responsible for their child’s dietary choices.

We require all children who are prescribed an epi-pen, inhaler, diabetic monitor or other medical device carry it with them at all times while on the premises. Parents and guardians assume full responsibility for their child's allergies and other medical conditions.

CANCELLATION, REFUND, & TRANSFER POLICY

Payment & Deposit: Full payment is required at the time of enrollment and includes a $25 nonrefundable deposit.

Refund Policy: Refunds are available until 30 days before the camp start date. Approved refunds will be issued minus the $25 nonrefundable deposit.

After this date, refunds are not available.

Why refunds are limited: Late withdrawals make it very difficult to fill an open spot. By that time, supplies have been purchased, materials prepared, and teaching staff scheduled based on enrollment. Your registration helps us hold and prepare your child’s spot, allowing us to offer small group sizes and a high-quality experience for all campers.

While refunds are not available after this date, we do allow spot transfers, where families are welcome to transfer a camp spot to a friend if plans change.

Transfers & Credits: If space allows, transfers to another camp may be requested up to 7 days before the camp start date.

Low Enrollment: If a camp does not meet the minimum enrollment of 4 campers at least 15 days before the start date, Lionardo Art Studio reserves the right to cancel the camp. In this case, families may choose a full refund or a transfer to another available camp.
